Vale Tony Williams. A much-loved member of the Rainbow Club family who has dedicated years of time, energy and passion to our mission. Today, we pay tribute to Tony, a Rainbow Club Australia Life Member whose legacy will forever be etched in our hearts.
A long-term board member, Tony, was involved in the early days of the Rainbow Club.
He was affectionately known as the “bower bird” among our community. Tony had a unique talent for gathering an array of treasures that would captivate and excite auction attendees at the annual fundraising balls. His efforts boosted our fundraising efforts, ensuring we could continue providing essential services and support to our members.
Tony, an engaging and vibrant man, extended his impact on Rainbow Club beyond his official board duties and into building our community. Twenty-five years ago, Tony invited his nephew and our long-term vice president, Rob Lloyd, to one of our annual dinners. This invitation sparked Rob’s long-term involvement with Rainbow Club, and together, they have profoundly shaped the lives of countless individuals.
“Tony worked hard and particularly loved supporting the children. Personally, I owe a debt of gratitude to Tony for his invitation to one of the annual balls over 25 years ago. This set off a chain of events leading to a lifetime of support and camaraderie. He was a great man of passion and fun.” Rob Lloyd – Vice President of Rainbow Club Australia.
Tony Williams’s legacy at Rainbow Club Australia is one of love and dedication to our cause. His efforts have touched our lives, creating a ripple effect of positivity that will continue to benefit our community. As we reflect on his contributions, we are reminded of the power of one individual’s passion and the profound impact it can have.
While we mourn the loss of Tony Williams, we also celebrate his life and the legacy he leaves behind. His spirit will forever be a part of Rainbow Club, inspiring future volunteers, generous donations and supporters to carry forward our mission of sharing the joy of swimming with more young people with a disability.
Thank you, Tony, for everything. You will always be remembered with love and gratitude by the Rainbow Club Australia family.
